Scholarships
In addition to taking care of each other, the Brothers of Helotes Masonic Lodge #1429 also get involved with the Helotes Community for the betterment of society.
The Helotes Masonic Lodge, together with its appendant bodies — the York Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star — is proud to award annual scholarships to three outstanding high school students. Applicants are asked to submit an essay along with their academic records and a summary of their extracurricular activities. Each application is carefully reviewed, and the top three students are selected based on their scholarship, leadership, and service. These deserving recipients are recognized for their achievements and presented with a scholarship to support their future educational goals.
Lamar Medal
Every year we ask highschool students about their teachers who they admire and who inspire them. We give the Lamar Medal to the teacher who has the most endorsement from the students.
Scholarships
We choose three senior students from the Helotes area highschools and give them a $1,000 scholarship award each.
Honesty and Integrity Award
We give this award to junior highschool students as nominated by their school counselors.
Cornyval Festival
Since the 1980's, the Brothers of Helotes Masonic Lodge has been participating in the Helotes Cornyval held every first week of May. Come and visit our booth near the main stage. We sell charbroiled burgers.
Fantastic Teeth Program
We donate toothbrushes, toothpaste, child-friendly mouth care instruction materials and brochures to 2nd Grade students.
Community Builder Award
Every year we acknowledge certain individual in the City of Helotes, TX who contributes to the improvement of Helotes and has made a worthwhile impact on our community.
